About
Based in Chatham, Ontario, Blair Andrews is a freelance journalist, specializing in agricultural reporting. After graduating with a degree in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute (now Ryerson University) in 1984, Blair launched a radio career that spanned three decades. The highlight was the 11 years spent at the Ontario AgRadio Network in Chatham, where Blair established his farm news reporting credentials as the “voice” of Foodland Forum’s Agri-News Update. Blair was honoured to receive several Tom Leach Awards, presented by the Canadian Farm Writers’ Federation, for excellence in farm radio reporting.
While the Ontario AgRadio Network programming went off the air in 2008, Blair continues to stay “connected” with farming and food issues as an active freelance writer. He writes for Eastern Top Crop Manager and writes and manages the content for The News Feed – the monthly newsletter of the Ontario Cattle Feeders’ Association. His articles have also appeared in Today’s Farmer .
Most recently, Blair has returned to his radio roots and is now covering farm news and events for Blackburn Farm Radio. The reports are aired on CKNX AM 920 in Wingham, and CFCO-Country 92.9 FM (630 AM) in Chatham.
The freelance duties have also been expanded to include reporting and writing for the Chatham Daily News, Chatham This Week and Tilbury & Wheatley This Week.
